Absolutely unbelievable, but for the 17 time in 24 years that it has been running, the readers of Conde Nast decided that Maui is the best island in the world. And not surprisingly, two Maui resorts took the top spots for Top Hawaiian Resorts: Travaasa Hana (previously known as Hotel Hana) and Four Seasons Resort in Wailea. The results are based on over 28K CNT subscribers, which made up over 8M individual votes. Maui took the top spot with an incredible score of 92.1 (best in the world for ANY destination, island or not!!!), with Kauai coming in at a close second at 90.
People who have visited Maui already know it, the Valley Isle offers it all: from luxury beachfront living in Makena and Kaanapali, to Condos in Wailea (the first master planned resort community), to tropical Hana (the Road to Hana being a visitor favorite), to historic Hawaiiana Lahaina, to cooler living in Maui Meadows. Through decades, it has grown from a vacation destination to a great place to live full time as well or as a second home. Educational opportunities vary, with some excellent private schools leading the way and Maui Community College being upgraded to a university status. The discerning shopper will enjoy the opportunities: from street-side vendors, to boutiques, to world-renowned shops. And for those who enjoy the outdoors, Maui has a plethora to offer: the windsurfing capital of the world, great snorkeling throughout the island, whale watching, kayaking, hiking, the only limit is your imagination.
With interested rates near historic lows, real estate values near the lowest point in a decade, and a market that is showing improvements, now is THE time to purchase Maui real estate.
